4. Tisza Part Open 2005 (first day)
by Fabio Selmi
For me it was really the first time that I took part in this big event and I
have to say "well done" to the organisers!
Yes, it was a very long competition but it is a price you pay when you organise
such a big event. There were couples from Italy, Serbia and Montenegro, Russia,
Austria, Slovenia, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Switzerland,
Taiwan, Poland and Hungary of course.
I was impressed about the quality of these couples, especially the very young
ones whose dance was clean, elegant and with a great sense of flowing.
Above, the first three couples of the IDSF International Open Latin event.
The first day was IDSF International Open Latin and 64 couples took part. Just
before the second round there was a computer problem - after a short break we
continued with the 48 couples on the floor [There were several latecoming
couples joing the repecharge after the first round and the scruteneering team
had to re-enter their names and recalculate, hence the break - Ed.].
During this little break Maurizio Vescovo entertained everyone by dancing with
members of the audience! When Quickstep played I did the same with Melinda's
sister. It was really a good fun for everyone.
My impression about the whole event is very positive, I found the organisation
very good. The food was great, hotel was nice, my whole stay was very
comfortable. I enjoyed it there. Thank you Maurizio and Melinda! Well done!
